Marine Corps Contributions to Special Operations Command Still Being Weighed

No decision was reached last week at a high-level Pentagon meeting on the Marine Corps' future in Special Operations Command, according to a service spokesman. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Michael Hagee and Army Gen. Bryan Brown, head of U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), met May 19 to discuss a permanent Marine Corps contribution to the command. The meeting was their third on the subject in recent months.
