Marine Corps to formally stand up first Marine Littoral Regiment this week

The Marine Corps will redesignate the 3rd Marine Regiment to the 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment in Hawaii later this week, Gen. Eric Smith, assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, told reporters Monday. This change reflects the first formation of a Marine Littoral Regiment and a major step in service Commandant Gen.
