Marine Corps to Reactivate Thousands of Troops

President Bush has authorized the Marine Corps to involuntarily activate thousands of Marines to address a shortage of volunteers for missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Up to 2,500 of these Marines may be activated at any one time from a pool of roughly 35,000 troops.
