Marine Corps Seeks Indefinite Delay to V-22 Production Decision

The Marine Corps has asked Navy acquisition executive Lee Buchanan to indefinitely postpone a decision on the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor's readiness for full production in the aftermath of yesterday's fatal crash in North Carolina. While awaiting additional information on the cause of the mishap, Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Fred McCorkle, deputy chief of staff for aviation, told reporters today the service has also ordered the entire fleet of V-22s grounded. Buchanan was scheduled to make the production decision next week...
