Marine F-35B Instructor Conducts First Aerial Refueling Training Flight

A Marine Corps pilot flew a short-takeoff, vertical-landing variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter today in an aerial refueling demonstration. Before the F-35B reaches initial operational capability, the Marine Corps must train instructor pilots who in turn will train the operational pilots. Today's flight from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida marked the first time one of the instructor pilots being trained had conducted aerial refueling.
