Once the military reaches a production rate of 500 ready-to-ship Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicles per month, it will likely begin to use surface transportation, the top Defense Department transportation official said today. Gen. Duncan McNabb, commander of U.S. Transportation Command, said at a breakfast with reporters this morning that the Army and Marine Corps are not yet producing that many vehicles per month.
