MDA to acquire DigitalGlobe

Canadian communications and information company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates -- or MDA -- said today it has agreed to acquire Earth imagery company DigitalGlobe in a $3.6 billion deal. Under the transaction, MDA would pay $35 per share in a combination of cash and stock. The deal values the Westminster, CO-based DigitalGlobe at $2.4 billion and includes assumption of DigitalGlobe's $1.2 billion in debt.
