MDA granted Boeing an extension to demonstrate power on 100-kilowatt laser project

The Missile Defense Agency has granted Boeing Phantom Works a final attempt to demonstrate a 100-kilowatt class laser by spring of next year, an assessment that will determine whether the company's directed-energy project can be considered for inclusion in the Pentagon's Industry Laser Scaling roadmap for continued development, according to MDA.
