MDA touts potential capability of Aegis interceptor against ICBMs

The Missile Defense Agency is confident in the potential ability of the Standard Missile-3 Block IIA weapon to intercept intercontinental ballistic missiles, despite not being designed to do so, after lawmakers asked MDA to test the ship-based interceptor against such targets.
