MEADS Intercepts Two Simultaneous Targets In Final Developmental Test

The Medium Extended Air Defense System took out two simultaneous targets coming from opposite directions in a final test today at White Sands Missile Range, NM, closing out the program's proof-of-concept phase, according to a statement from the managing agency for the program. In the test, a QF-4 air-breathing target was fired from the south while a Lance missile flying a tactical ballistic missile trajectory approached from the north, the statement notes.
