Missing Parts Trigger Osprey Inspections

The Navy is directing officials to inspect a particular section of every MV-22 Osprey after one aircraft was found to be missing five fasteners in that section and inspections of four other Ospreys revealed loose fasteners, according to James Darcy, the Navy's spokesman for the program. Darcy said the service is issuing an "airframe bulletin" to MV-22 users directing them to inspect the two "tilt-access gearboxes" in each Osprey within the next 15 flight hours.
