NASSCO Wins Massive Cargo Ship Contract

The Navy has picked National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. for an auxiliary dry cargo ship contract that could be worth more than $3.7 billion if all options are exercised, the Defense Department announced today. The service awarded the San Diego-based General Dynamics company an initial $406.9 million contract for the lead ship of the T-AKE auxiliary cargo and ammunition ship class, DOD said.
