Navy again delays Large Surface Combatant acquisition schedule

The Navy again delayed its acquisition schedule for the future large surface combatant, a move that follows congressional concern the service was moving too quickly on the program. While the fiscal year 2020 shipbuilding plan projected the service purchasing its first large surface combatant in FY-25, the FY-21 budget request published this week does not include the large surface combatant in its future years defense program procurement objectives.
