Navy developing standards-based acquisition approach for autonomous and unmanned tech

The Navy is working on a new acquisition model for autonomous and unmanned technologies that will provide common, government-owned standards for these systems, allowing more vendors to compete for work and giving the sea service greater speed and flexibility in its technology development. But before solidifying these standards, the Navy and industry must agree on several points, including where data rights begin and end.
