Navy envisions new UAS mission sets

The Navy wants to expand the mission of its unmanned aerial systems to multiple areas, according to a senior service official. Intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting have been "the bread and butter" of unmanned aerial systems for a long time, Rear Adm. Brian Corey, program executive officer for unmanned air systems and strike weapons, said today at the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space conference.
