Navy to experiment with swarm of 30 small drones over Gulf of Mexico

Naval researchers will experiment with the ability of 30 small unmanned aerial vehicles to swarm together in a demonstration over the Gulf of Mexico this week, according to the chief of naval research. Rear Adm. Mat Winter, the head of the Office of Naval Research, said the demonstration will be the biggest yet for the Low-Cost UAV Swarming Technology (LOCUST) program.
