Navy eyeing using LCS with Light Amphibious Warship to support Marine Corps expeditionary efforts

The Navy is considering using its Littoral Combat Ship with the Marine Corps' Light Amphibious Warship to support expeditionary advanced base operations, the Naval Surface Forces commander told reporters Friday. Vice Adm. Roy Kitchener told reporters that the LCS can operate in the first island chain supporting the Marine Corps’ expeditionary advanced base operations concept.
