Navy Issues Environmental Plan For Basing Super Hornets

The Navy will publish a draft environmental impact statement Friday (Aug. 2) outlining the service's plans to base the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet on the East Coast, the Defense Department announced today. The Navy has chosen two alternatives for basing 10 Super Hornet fleet squadrons (130 aircraft) and one fleet replacement squadron (32 aircraft). The service will put either six fleet squadrons and the replacement squadron at Naval Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA, and four fleet squadrons at Marine Corps Air...
