Navy plans to deploy Littoral Combat Ship outfitted with Naval Strike Missile

The Navy is making preparations to install Kongsberg's Naval Strike Missile system on the Littoral Combat Ship Freedom, which will deploy to the Asia-Pacific region later this year. The service is planning to put Kongsberg on contract for two tactical launcher missile modules, with options to buy six more, as well as associated ramps, fire control and interface systems, and test equipment for the NSM, according to a May 4 presolicitation notice posted to the Federal Business Opportunities website.
