Navy releases new surface-forces strategy focused on 'sea control'

The Navy has released a new surface-forces strategy focused on a "return to sea control" through applying the service's nascent "distributed lethality" concept. The world is entering "a new age of seapower," with state and non-state groups alike testing the global maritime dominance held by the U.S. Navy since the end of the Cold War, the new strategy asserts.
