Navy Scores Third Straight Ballistic Missile Intercept During Hawaii Test

The Navy's Aegis weapon system successfully guided a Standard Missile-3 carrying a kinetic interceptor toward a ballistic missile target last night during a test over the Pacific Ocean. The test marked the first time the Aegis system was able to intercept a missile target as it was streaking upward. The test, titled Flight Mission-4, is the first in a series of six tests the Navy and the Missile Defense Agency will conduct as they develop a sea-based missile defense system...
