Navy shifts strategy on how to dismantle first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier

The Navy is shifting its strategy on dismantling the reactor plants on its first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Enterprise (CVN-65) and how the service will dispose of all low-level radioactive waste. On Aug. 1 the service released a request for information to see which companies are interested in working in fiscal year 2019 on the inactivated and defueled Enterprise.
