Navy, vendor still negotiating terms of initial Flight III destroyer contract

The Navy is still negotiating terms of the deal for the first DDG-51 Flight III destroyer with shipbuilder Bath Iron Works, as the service prefers using a fixed-price contract to purchase the upgraded guided missile destroyer. Last spring, the Navy announced plans to award the first Flight III destroyer to Bath Iron Works, a shipyard owned by General Dynamics and located in Bath, ME. But nearly a year later, the terms of the Flight III award are still being worked...
