Navy Vice Chief Nominated For Atlantic Fleet Command

Adm. William Fallon, the vice chief of naval operations, has been nominated by the president to command U.S. Atlantic Fleet and Fleet Forces Command, the Pentagon announced today. If approved by the Senate, Fallon would succeed Adm. Robert Natter, who has led Atlantic Fleet since June 2000. The Navy has not announced what Natter will do next.
