New bill would spend nearly $1.4B to expand U.S. defense partnership with Israel

A bicameral, bipartisan group of lawmakers wants the United States to spend about $1.4 billion over the next five fiscal years expanding U.S. defense cooperation with Israel on emerging technologies, including the establishment of a new Defense Innovation Unit office. Instructions in the proposed United States-Israel Defense Partnership Act of 2025 -- outlined in identical bills introduced in the House and Senate -- would direct the Defense Department to establish a DIU office in Israel “no later than 180 days”...
