The House Armed Services Committee is calling for a new commission to review the Defense Department's progress in making changes to its nuclear forces. This panel, the "Commission on the Long-Term Implementation of the New Strategic Posture of the United States," would investigate and report to Congress on the status of goals spelled out in the 2001 Nuclear Posture Review.
