New law requires DOD to submit services contract data for inclusion in five-year budget

New defense authorization legislation requires the Defense Department to begin annually submitting data to Congress on the amount it spends for contracted services so the information can be included in the Pentagon's five-year budget projections. The fiscal year 2020 defense authorization bill states the defense secretary, acting through the Pentagon comptroller and the director of cost assessment and program evaluation, will annually collect the data and provide it to Congress.
