New report finds DOD lacks oversight, procedures for billions flowing through 'consortium' agreements

The Defense Department is missing key information and lacking consistent procedures for increasingly popular "consortium" agreements, according to a new report from the DOD inspector general. The DOD IG report released today determined the department "did not always" follow laws and regulations for other transaction agreements awarded through consortiums. The report only assessed other transactions awarded through consortiums, not agreements awarded directly to individual companies.
