Newport News Names Lockheed Martin as CVN-77 Warfare Systems Integrator

Newport News Shipbuilding has selected Lockheed Martin as its warfare systems integrator for the as-yet unnamed CVN-77, the Navy's newest nuclear aircraft carrier, the company announced yesterday in a statement. The selection decision comes out of a nine-month competition conducted by Newport News under a CVN-77 advance-planning contract awarded by the Navy in October 1998, the company said.
