After first being tapped to serve as the Army's next vice chief of staff, Gen. Raymond Odierno has been picked to succeed Army Gen. David Petraeus as the top commander in Iraq, the Defense Department announced today. Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced that the president has nominated Petraeus to succeed Navy Adm.
