Official: Army Aviation Reforms Won't Wait For Outside Review

A top Army acquisition official said the service will execute aviation reform plans irrespective of an independent commission that some lawmakers want for reviewing the process. Lt. Gen. Michael Williamson, deputy to the service's civilian acquisition chief, said the so-called aviation restructure initiative is a "well thought out process" designed to respond to what leaders have decried as budget cuts too deep for the service to handle.
