OMB Director Says Remaining War Funds Needed Before Memorial Day to Avoid Furlough Warnings

Congress needs to provide the remaining $108.1 billion requested in this fiscal year's emergency supplemental war funding bill before Memorial Day to avoid furlough notice warnings, White House budget chief Jim Nussle told a Senate panel this afternoon. However, lawmakers expressed reluctance to approve the bill at the expense of domestic priorities.
