OMB seeks to cut aircraft carrier reactor core to pay for second LCS

The Trump administration is asking Congress to approve the transfer of $500 million within the Navy's fiscal year 2018 budget to pay for a second Littoral Combat Ship, which was not included in the administration's original budget request delivered earlier this year. The bulk of the transfer -- $325 million -- would come from an aircraft carrier reactor core that is not needed in FY-18, according to a June 29 letter sent to Congress by Office of Management and Budget...
