ONR opens up cyber campaign for combat, industrial control systems

Naval researchers have kick-started an initiative to pursue technologies that can be retrofitted onto the service's existing weapons platforms and industrial control systems to make them more resilient against cyber attacks. The Office of Naval Research plans to award multiple contract awards and grants to develop solutions to improve the cybersecurity of real-time systems, like combat platforms and industrial control nodes, according to a Broad Agency Announcement released online Nov. 19.
