Oshkosh Defense Delivers JLTV Prototype To Army And Marine Corps

Oshkosh Defense delivered its first Joint Light Tactical Vehicle prototype to the Army and Marine Corps last week, according to a company announcement. The JLTV program is entering the testing portion of its engineering and manufacturing development phase, with three competing contractors: Oshkosh, Lockheed Martin and AM General. The vehicle is expected to replace 50,000 Army humvees, while the Marines plan to purchase 5,500. Recent budget pressures, however, have put the program under a microscope at the Pentagon.
