PACOM Policy Straddling Partnerships and Talk of U.S. 'Pre-Eminence'

U.S. Pacific Command's need to cooperate with countries in its area of responsibility must be balanced with talk of America's "military pre-eminence" in the region, PACOM Commander Adm. Timothy Keating said today. His comments came months after the Pentagon published its newest estimate of China's military capabilities.
