Pentagon announces JWCC cloud contract awards

The Defense Department announced today that four vendors -- Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft and Oracle -- will be on contract for the military's up-to-$9-billion multicloud environment. The four major service providers had all previously been invited to pitch proposals for the effort, known as the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability, that serves as a replacement to the Pentagon’s single-vendor Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud contract that was ultimately canceled in the wake of a drawn-out legal battle.
