Pentagon approves new Navy MCM USV program

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The Pentagon last week approved a mine countermeasures program that will adapt three payloads for use on an unmanned surface vehicle, according to an officer overseeing the program. The Navy's Mine Countermeasures Unmanned Surface Vehicle program uses the USV from the Unmanned Influence Sweeping System, Capt. Pete Small, program manager for unmanned maritime systems, told attendees this week at an expeditionary warfare conference here.
