The Pentagon has awarded Lockheed Martin a $950 million advance acquisition contract for 94 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft. The funding is for long-lead-time, materials, parts and components in preparation of delivering the low-rate initial production aircraft, according to a June 4 statement.
