Pentagon Backed Off QDR Force Cuts Projections After Sept. 11

Senior Defense Department officials backed away from including force cut and management efficiency projections in the Quadrennial Defense Review in the days following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz told a Senate committee today. Wolfowitz said such projections were seen as "essentially meaningless" in the wake of the attacks.
