Pentagon Claims No Knowledge of Sub Collision in Barents Sea

Russian news reports say the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk, which sank to the bottom of the Barents Sea over the weekend, was involved in a major collision, but Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. Craig Quigley told InsideDefense.com there are no indications the Kursk collided with another sub. Asked directly if a U.S. sub collided with the Oscar-class Kursk, Quigley said, "To the best of my knowledge, no."
