Pentagon Downplays Chinese Fighters 'Observing' U.S. Reconnaissance Plane

A Pentagon spokesman today labeled two Chinese fighter aircraft observing a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace off China's southeast coast a "non-event." Agence France-Presse reported today that two Chinese fighters intercepted the U.S. Air Force RC-135 aircraft over the South China Sea. Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm.
