Pentagon Expects Retention Rates To Stay Steady Despite Iraq Deployments

Despite an open-ended commitment of U.S. military forces in Iraq, Defense Department officials expect retention rates to remain high, the Pentagon's top personnel official said today. David Chu, the under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness, said retention rates are "holding up quite well in both the active and reserve [forces], across all of the services.
