Pentagon to Outfit Special Forces Battalion in Iraq With Land Warrior

Congress has approved $50 million to equip special forces teams in Iraq with the Land Warrior system, according to a reprogramming request submitted to Congress in April. In response to an approved operational needs statement, the Pentagon asked for permission to move funds to outfit one Special Operations Reconnaissance and Communications battalion deployed in Iraq, the document states.
