Pentagon Report: Navy, Air Force Programs Face Schedule Slips

The Defense Department yesterday announced delays involving major Air Force and Navy acquisition programs. Production of a key component for the Air Force's NAVSTAR Global Positioning System program -- the M-code Receiver Card -- has slipped from January 2009 to May 2011, the Pentagon said in a statement. And the first Block IIF Space Vehicle to ferry a new GPS system to orbit -- originally scheduled to be online this November -- will not be available until January 2009. Also...
