Pentagon Reprograms $9 Billion to Support MRAP Production, Transport

The Defense Department is shifting $9 billion into service accounts to pay for the continued production and transportation of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles. In a Dec. 17 internal reprogramming, the Pentagon transfers money from the MRAP vehicle fund to "[support] urgent warfighting needs for force protection for operating forces in Iraq and Afghanistan."
