Pentagon Shifts Money To Pay For OPM Breach, Pricier Investigations Contracts

The Defense Department in late July reprogrammed $132 million to pay for identity monitoring and recovery services for Pentagon workers affected by the Office of Personnel Management breach as well to cover additional expenses related to contracts for background investigations. The document , signed by Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord, transfers $54.3 million to the Army, $18.4 million to the Navy and $36.7 million to the Air Force to “provide a suite of identity monitoring and recovery services” for those affected...
