Pentagon studying options for tapping alternative PNT systems

The Defense Department is conducting a study to determine the risks and technical challenges associated with procuring positioning, navigation and timing receivers that can receive PNT signals from multiple systems, beyond GPS. At least five space-based PNT networks are currently being operated by countries or consortia around the world, but military receivers are designed only to connect with GPS.
