President Nominates New Forces Command Chief

The president has picked Lt. Gen. Larry Ellis, the Army's deputy chief of staff for operations and plans, to lead U.S. Forces Command, according to a Defense Department statement. Maj. Gen. David McKiernan, the commander of the 1st Calvary Division, Ft. Hood, TX, has been nominated to take Ellis' three-star DCSOPS slot, the statement adds.
