The president has nominated Adm. James Ellis for the position of commander in chief of U.S. Strategic Command, the Defense Department announced today. Ellis is the commander of U.S. naval forces in Europe and commander-in-chief of Allied Forces, Southern Europe. If confirmed for the STRATCOM post, he would replace Adm.
